Pada resep butter cookies ala Taste of Home di bawah, ada empat kreasi topping dan rasa, yaitu Irisan Cokelat, Peppermint Balls , Bola-bola Buah Kering Pedas, dan Cutouts .

Adonan dasar butter cookies dibagi menjadi empat kemudian dikreasikan dengan bahan tambahan sesuai yang diinginkan. Cara membuatnya mudah, bisa disimak seperti berikut.
Bahan:
2 cup(450 gr) mentega 1 cup (225 gr) gula 2 butir telur berukuran besar 1 sendok teh ekstrak vanili 5 cup (550 gr) tepung 2 sendok teh baking powder 1/4 sendok teh garam Bahan tambahan bentuk Cutouts:
Taburan, meses atau gula berwarna, opsional Bahan tambahan bentuk Peppermint Balls:
1/4 cangkir (42 gram) permen peppermint yang dihancurkan 1/4 sendok teh ekstrak peppermint Gula berwarna merah, opsional Bahan tambahan bentuk bola buah pedas:
1/2 cangkir (42 gram) kismis kering 1/2 cangkir manisan campur cincang 1/2 sendok teh kayu manis bubuk Gula manisan, opsional Bahan tambahan bentuk Iris Cokelat:
56 ons coklat tanpa pemanis 1/2 cup (42 gram) pecan cincang Cara membuat butter cookies:
1. Kocok mentega dan gula pasir sampai ringan dan mengembang seperti krim. Tambahkan telur dan vanili. Campurkan tepung, baking powder dan garam. Masukan secara bertahap ke campuran krim dan aduk rata.

2. Bagi adonan menjadi empat porsi satu sampai setengah cangkir. Bentuk empat adonan tersebut.
3. Untuk bentuk cutouts : Gunakan satu porsi adonan, bagi menjadi dua. Giling setiap adonan langsung di atas loyang yang tidak diberi minyak hingga ketebalan 0,5 cm.
Potong dengan pemotong kue bertepung. Hiasi dengan taburan, meses at au gula berwarna sesuai selera.
Panggang pada suhu 190 derajat Celcius selama enam sampai tujuh menit menit atau sampai tepinya mulai berwarna coklat. Dinginkan selama 1 menit sebelum dipindahkan ke rak kawat. Hasil: 2 lusin.

4. Untuk bentuk Peppermint Balls: Campurkan satu porsi adonan, permen peppermint, dan ekstrak peppermint. Bentuk menjadi bola-bola kecil.
