Recently, on September 25, 2023, after a life filled with love and cherished moments, Patrick, affectionately known as “Pops,” peacefully passed away in Dwight, Illinois, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and devotion.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Patrick J. Fleming on October 2, 2023, at Hager Memorial Home in Dwight, Illinois. Visitation will precede the service, starting at 1:00 PM and concluding at 4:00 PM, when the funeral service will commence. Following the service, cremation rites will be accorded, a final step in his earthly journey. Patrick’s life journey began in Chicago, Illinois, as the beloved child of George and Frances (Best) Fleming. On September 9, 1989, he embarked on a lifelong adventure by marrying the love of his life, Linda Hilliard, in Joliet, Illinois. Together, they created a tapestry of love and cherished memories that would span over three decades.
Patrick’s legacy is carried on by his devoted wife of 34 years, Linda Fleming, who stood by his side through life’s joys and challenges. He leaves behind a family that was the center of his world. His children include Pamela Danko (Mike Burress) of Streator, Kimberly Fleming of Joliet, Elizabeth Fleming of Streator, and Daisy Skaj of Plano. These individuals were the heartbeat of his existence, and he treasured every moment he spent with them.
In addition to his immediate family, Patrick is survived by his sister, Sarah “Sally” Toblesky, and brother, George Fleming Jr. His extended family includes 16 grandchildren: Mollie, Samantha, Anne Marie, and Riley Danko; Haley Fleming; Heather (Mario) Miguel; Amber (Luke) Winder; Adrian Conroy; Jordan, Alayna, and Patrick Fleming; Jesse, Valerie, Naomi, and Zane Cross; and Ayden Rojas. The love and joy he shared with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a source of immense pride and happiness.
