Namun yang mengejutkan di tahun 2024 ini Apple menghadirkan inovasi teknologi terbarunya yaitu Vision Pro. Di mana alat ini mirip seperti di film The Simpsons.

Episode The Simpsons berjudul "Friends and Family" yang disebut telah memprediksi peluncuran Apple Vision Pro bukan ditayangkan pada 2015.
Menurut situs Simpsonswiki.com, episode "Friends and Family" tayang perdana pada 2 Oktober 2016.
Episode tersebut menceritakan karakter Mr Burns yang bermasalah dengan kemarahan (anger issue). Ia menemukan hiburan lewat perangkat VR bernama Frink Oculus ciptaan Professor Frink.
Namun, episode itu tidak tepat jika diklaim sebagai prediksi peluncuran Apple Vision Pro. Sebab, perangkat VR headset bukan barang baru ketika episode tersebut pertama kali ditayangkan pada 2016.
Dilansir Forbes, perangkat VR headset yang disebut "The Sword of Damocles" telah diperkenalkan pada 1968 oleh Ivan Sutherland. Penemuan inovatif ini meletakkan dasar bagi perangkat VR masa kini.
Sementara itu, perangkat VR headset semakin dikenal luas berkat peluncuran Oculus Rift oleh Meta (perusahaan induk Facebook) pada Maret 2016.
Oculus diakuisisi Meta pada 2014, setelah meluncurkan perangkat VR headset Oculus DK1.
